John Hines To Step Down From WCCO Daily Show

John Hines has announced he will step down from his 9am-12pm show on Entercom News/Talk 830 WCCO Minneapolis following the Minnesota State Fair this summer, but remain with the station in a part-time/fill-in role. Hines has been with WCCO since 2009, where he hosted evenings until 2009 before moving into the late morning slot in 2012. He has worked in the Minneapolis market for 45 years and is best known for his run co-hosting mornings at 99.5 WLOL with Bob Berglund and 17 years in that timeslot at iHeartMedia Country “K102” KEEY. He also spent time at 1280 WWTC, 1500 KSTP, 100.3 KTLK-FM, and KSTP-TV in the market. Entercom has appointed Andy Bloom as Operations Manager of Country “Buz’n 102.9” KMNB, Variety Hits “104.1 Jack-FM” and News/Talk 830 WCCO Minneapolis. Bloom had been running his own Media and Communications consultancy since exiting his position as OM/PD of CBS Radio’s Sports 94.1 WIP and Talk 1210 WPHT Philadelphia in 2016. Minnesota Twins Return To WCCO

Update 11/17: Entercom has officially announced its new deal with the Twins to bring the franchise back to News/Talk 830 WCCO. WCCO carried the team’s broadcasts from its move to Minnesota in 1961 through the end of the 2006 season will resume that role for the upcoming season. The Twins have been on team owned Alternative “Go 96.3” KQGO Edina since 2013 and also spent six seasons on Hubbard Sports “ESPN 1500” KSTP. Paul Douglas & Jordana Green To Host WCCO Afternoons

CBS Radio News/Talk 830 WCCO Minneapolis has found a replacement for afternoon host John Williams. Longtime WCCO-TV and KARE meteorologist Paul Douglas will join current WCCO 9-11pm host Jordana Green for the “Paul & Jordana Show” from 3-6pm weekdays starting Tuesday, August 1. They replace John Williams, who moved back to 720 WGN Chicago earlier this year. Paul Douglas is a longtime television fixture in Minneapolis where he was seen on KARE-TV from 1983-1994 and WCCO-TV from 1997-2008. John Williams Exiting WCCO; Returning To WGN Full-Time

Afternoon host John Williams will exit afternoons at CBS News/Talk 830 WCCO Minneapolis and return to the weekday schedule at Tribune’s 720 WGN Chicago. Williams has hosted afternoons at WCCO since 2010. He worked fulltime at WGN from 1997 through 2012, doing shows for both stations from 2010-2012 from WGN’s studios until relocating to Minneapolis at the start of 2013. He has continued to host a Saturday show for WGN from Minneapolis. Williams will host 1-3pm weekdays on WGN and 10am-12pm on Saturdays starting Monday, March 13. His daily show will replace the second half of Wendy Snyder and Bill Leff’s split show. They will continue to host 10am-12pm, while adding a third hour on WGNPlus.com according to Robert Feder.
