Marty Lenz To Anchor KOA Denver’s Colorado Morning News

iHeartMedia News/Talk 850 KOA/94.1 K231AA Boulder/K231BQ Golden CO has appointed Marty Lenz as its new co-anchor of Colorado’s Morning News. Lenz will debut on KOA on January 8 alongside co-anchor April Zesbaugh filling the opening created by Stefan Tubbs’ July arrest for suspected domestic violence, disturbance by phone. Tubbs has since had all charges against him dropped but the company chose not to rehire him. iHeartMedia has made on-air lineup changes at three of its stations in Denver. Starting at Classic Rock “103.5 The Fox” KRFX, Susie Wargin takes over the midday slot. Wargin had been co-hosting 10am-12pm on Sports “Denver Sports 760” KDSP. Gregg ‘Uncle Nasty’ Stone returns to the company to take afternoons at KRFX. Nasty had hosted afternoons at Rock 106.7 KBPI for 15 years until his layoff in 2012. KOA Adds FM Simulcast; Christmas Debuts On 107.9 Denver

iHeartMedia News/Talk 850 KOA Denver officially announced the launch of its simulcast on 94.1 K231BQ Golden/KBCO-HD3 during this evening’s Denver Broncos pre-game show. In a few weeks 94.1 K231AA Boulder (which currently rebroadcasts CHR “95.7 The Party” KPTT) will also begin simulcasting KOA as the two translator signals are synchronized to maximize coverage. Denver Broncos Continue NFL’s Shift To FM

The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with Clear Channel on a four-year extension of their radio rights agreement. The move keeps the Broncos on News/Talk 850 KOA, which has served as the team’s flagship station since 1969. Dave Logan will return for his 17th season (and 24th overall) as play-by-play man and Ed McCaffrey comes back for his second year as analyst. The team will expand its 60+ station regional network with the addition of simulcasts on Clear Channel’s Classic Rock “103.5 The Fox” KRFX in Denver.
