Mikey V Rises To WXKS-FM APD/MD

As part of a series of announcements at iHeartMedia Boston, Mikey ‘V’ Vinci has been promoted to Assistant Program Director/Music Director for CHR “Kiss 108” 107.9 WXKS-FM. Vinci has hosted nights at WXKS-FM since 2013 and will report to Senior Vice President of Programing Dylan Sprague. The Breakfast Club Comes To Boston

For the second time in less than a year a major morning change comes to iHeartMedia Rhythmic CHR “Jam’n 94.5” WJMN Boston. The syndicated Breakfast Club hosted by Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy based at sister “Power 105.1” WWPR-FM New York will debut in mornings at WJMN on Thursday, May 12 replacing Frankie V & Ashlee Feldman. While all references to Frankie V have been removed from WJMN’s website, Feldman remains. Frankie V joined WJMN last July from sister CHR “Channel 93.3” KHTS San Diego. Ramiro Joins Hot 96.9 Boston

Ramiro Torres is joining Greater Media Rhythmic AC “Hot 96.9” WBQT Boston. Torres was taken off the air at iHeartMedia’s “Jam’n 94.5” WJMN in July prior to his contract expiring and replaced by Frankie Vinci. At WBQT he will be joining his former co-hosts Pebbles and Melissa as well as former New England Patriot Jermaine Wiggins on the station’s “Get Up Crew”. Ramiro Torres and Santi DeOleo are both out at WJMN as Frankie Vinci comes across the country from sister CHR “Channel 93.3” KHTS-FM San Diego to take over the morning show. A native of Framingham, MA, Frankie V will join incumbent co-host Ashlee Feldman for the “The Jam’n Morning Show with Frankie & Ashlee” starting Monday, July 27. Vinci also served as APD/MD at KHTS-FM and had hosted mornings with Geena The Latina since 2010 after moving up from nights. How Boston Radio Handled Today’s Bombing Coverage

The radio industry’s response to today’s explosions at the Boston Marathon has been very varied. Shortly after news broke, CBS’ entire cluster began simulcasting the coverage of either News 1030 WBZ or sister WBZ-TV 4. Entercom’s 93.7 WEEI-FM broke in with local coverage following its post-game coverage of the Boston Red Sox game before temporarily simulcasting sister Talk 680 WRKO and then returning to local programming.
