Following the recent cutbacks at CBS Radio Philadelphia, the company has promoted three staffers to the position of Assistant Program Director at their respective stations. CBS Philadelphia Promotes Shelly Easton To VP/Music Programming; Bobby Smith Adds WOGL PD Duties

Following the exit of Anne Gress from her position as Program Director at Classic Hits 98.1 WOGL Philadelphia earlier this week, CBS Radio has announced a pair of promotions in the market. Shelly Easton, Program Director of Country 92.5 WXTU, will add on the title of Vice President of Music Programming overseeing all three music stations the company owns in the market. Talent Cuts At CBS, Cumulus & Entercom

While iHeartMedia has made the most news lately in terms of staffing cuts, recent downsizing moves have been made the past few days at Cumulus Media, CBS Radio, and Entercom. Two major market Cumulus News/Talk stations have shed talent in the past couple of days. Morning host Brian Wilson is out at 630 WMAL/105.9 WMAL-FM Washington DC after six years at the station. Recently added co-host Mary Walter remains in place on “Mornings On The Mall”. Ron Kuby exits as 12-3pm co-host at 770 WABC New York. Kuby and longtime co-host Curtis Sliwa returned to WABC in January 2014 when Rush Limbaugh moved to iHeartMedia’s 710 WOR. Marilyn Russell Joins 98.1 WOGL’s Breakfast Club

After exiting mornings at Variety Hits “95.7 Ben-FM” WBEN-FM Philadelphia when Beasley closed on the acquisition of Greater Media, Marilyn Russell is joining CBS Radio Classic Hits 98.1 WOGL as part of its “Breakfast Club”. Russell will fill the spot vacated by the departure of Valerie Knight last month alongside Frank Lewis and Bill Zimpfer. Russell has worked in the Philadelphia market since 1993 at Alternative 103.9 WDRE, “Y100” WPLY, Rock 93.3 WMMR, and from 2007-2016 in mornings at WBEN-FM. Ross Brittain Exiting WOGL Philadelphia

While Scott Shannon has signed a contract extension with CBS Radio to remain in mornings at WCBS-FM New York, his original “Z100” co-host is leaving the company. Ross Brittain, who has led the “Breakfast Club” on Classic Hits 98.1 WOGL Philadelphia since 2004, will leave the station after his show on Friday, July 31. In addition to Z100 and WOGL, Brittain also hosted mornings at WKSS Hartford, WZGO/WTRK/WEGX Philadelphia, WZGC Atlanta, and WABC New York in the waning days of its music format.
