Norsan Communications is expanding to Charleston SC with the purchase of Spanish CHR “El Sol” 980 WAZS Summerville/103.9 W280EX North Charleston and 1480 WZJY Mount Pleasant/95.7 W239AL Fernandina Beach FL and two low-power TV stations in the market from Thomas Daniels’ Jabar Communications for $850,000. Norsan owns stations in Charlotte NC, Columbia SC, and Jacksonville FL. In a deal not yet filed with the FCC, Capps Broadcast Group is selling its six stations in Pendleton OR and Walla Walla WA to Randy McKone’s Elkhorn Media Group for an undisclosed amount. Two Girls & A Guy Return To Charleston

Two Girls & A Guy are getting back together at Apex Broadcasting Adult CHR “Mix 96” 95.9 WMXZ Isle of Palms/Charleston. The show featured multiple incarnations during its twelve year run at Cumulus CHR “95SX” WSSX before the final triumvirate moved on to larger markets. Those three: Mike Edwards, Tonya Brown, and Brooke Ryan will return to Charleston on September 15. Edwards and Brown recently exited mornings at Alpha Media’s “Live 95.5” KBFF Portland, while Ryan was hosting afternoons at Cumulus’ “Hits 107.3” WRQX Washington DC. WQSC Charleston Flips To Talk

Kirkman Broadcasting Beach/Oldies 1340 WQSC Charleston flipped to News/Talk yesterday. Rocky D, most recently with Cumulus Talk 1250 WTMA is the anchor of the new format, hosting a local show from 3-6pm daily. The remainder of the lineup includes Imus In The Morning from 6-10am, Mike Gallagher from 10am-12pm, America’s Radio News Network from 12pm-1pm and 6-7pm, Laura Ingraham from 1-3pm, and Dennis Miller, Jim Bohannon and Overnight America in the evening. This may not be the only move Kirkman is making with its Charleston stations. In a video report by WCBD-TV, the station logo for WQSC includes 950 WJKB Moncks Corner as being a simulcast with 1340.
