Scott Lindy has departed his position as Cumulus Corporate Program Director and at Country “Kicks 101.5” WKHX Atlanta. Lindy joined Cumulus in May 2015 to program 95.5 WFMS Indianapolis and moved to WKHX the following October. Lindy spent 4 1/2 years as OM/PD of Hot AC “Star 94” WSTR Atlanta under Lincoln Financial Media ownership until its sale to Entercom in 2014 and 2+ years programming Country “94.9 The Bull” WUBL Atlanta. He has also programmed 93.1 WPOC Baltimore and served as Senior Director of Music Programming for Sirius Satellite Radio. Cumulus has flipped 1320 KSCR/98.1 K251BN Eugene OR to Soft AC after its brief Christmas music stunt. Utilizing Westwood One’s Lite AC network feed, the station is using the simple “All of your favorite hits on 1320 AM and 98.1 FM” imaging. Original Report 12/21: Cumulus Media will debut a new format in Eugene OR after the holidays. Former Regional Mexican “Radio Unica 1320” KSCR Eugene has signed-on its new translator 98.1 K251BN and began stunting with Christmas music last week. The station is promoting that it will continue airing the holiday music through January 1.

Casa Media Partners is currently in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. An ownership restructuring is taking place at South Asian station operator XL Media as “Radio Punjab” 1560 KZIZ Pacific/Tacoma, 100.5 K263BJ Richland WA and 660 KGSV Oildale/102.5 K273CB Bakersfield CA are transferred to Akal Broadcasting for no consideration. Starboard will acquire Classic Country “Twang 106.7” 1410 WMYR Fort Myers and 106.7 W294AN Fort Myers Beach from Mark Follett’s Gulf Breeze Radio License LLC for $546,733.82. The Catholic operator will also purchase AC “98FM Marco Island” 1480 WVOI and Spanish CHR “Ardiente Radio” 1660 WCNZ Marco Island from Almodovar Media Corporation for the assumption of the $356,266.18 owed on the promissory note by Almodovar to previous owner J&B WCNZ/WVOI LLC. After the move of Country 97.5 KSHL to 93.7 last week, McKenzie River Broadcasting has completed the move of what is now 97.7 KEQB Coburg OR into the Eugene market. McKenzie River debuted the move-in signal at 10am this morning as Regional Mexican “La Que Buena 97.7“. The station will carry Univision’s Alex “El Genio” Lucas in mornings. Steve King, PD of sister AC “94.5 Mix-FM” KMGE and Variety Hits “105.5 Bob-FM” KEUG will also oversee KEQB. Lupe Cureno will join the station from 610 KRTA Medford for an undisclosed airshift.

Update 7/28: KNRQ made its move to 103.7 at 12am this morning. The KXPC call letters made the move with 97.9 up to Aloha in the Portland market, which was testing earlier this morning in order to file for its permanent license. Original Report 7/25: With its 97.9 signal about to be moved into Portland, Cumulus Rock 97.9 KNRQ Eugene, OR will move its programming to 103.7 on Sunday, July 28. Cumulus acquired 103.7 KXPC-FM Harrisburg, OR from EMF Broadcasting last year to replace the 97.9 facility in its Eugene cluster.
