FCC Report 7/3: Big Upgrade Planned In Nashville

FM Changes Midwest Communications is seeking to upgrade CHR "i106.7" WNFN Millersville/Nashville TN from a Class C3 to a C2 licensed to Franklin TN. WNFN would operate with 15kW/278m from the tower of 97.9 WSIX south of Nashville. The upgrade will increase the amount of the Nashville urbanized area the station serves with a 70dBu signal from 56% to 90%.

Station Sales Week Of 6/23: Sinclair Purchases KOMO-FM

Sinclair Broadcasting is exercising its option to purchase 97.7 KOMO-FM Oakville and 97.7 K249DX Redmond WA from South Sound Broadcasting for $6.75 million. Sinclair and predecessor Fisher Broadcasting have operated KOMO-FM since May 2009 via LMA as a simulcast of News 1000 KOMO Seattle. Hunt Broadcasting sells AAA “105.9 The Wave” KYSJ Coos Bay OR back to former owner Lighthouse Radio Group for $5,000 and the cancellation of all debts and financial obligations owed by Hunt to Lighthouse for the original purchase and studio and tower rental. Station Sales Oklahoma City based Perry Broadcasting is expanding to Fayetteville AR via a pair of acquisitions. Perry will acquire 1340 KFMD Bethel Heights from Hog Radio for $350,000 and 105.3 K287AN Fayetteville from Don Campbell for $50,000. The two stations currently air a Christian AC format as “105.3 The Voice” but will likely flip to Perry’s specialty within the Urban realm. In the southeast suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Religious Information Network sells Christian AC “The Remnant” 88.1 WAJC Newport MN to Maranatha Assembly of God Church for $52,000. Station Sales As it is granted a CP to increase to 250 watts, Family Life Ministries has sold 104.7 W284AP Buffalo to Entercom. The $125,000 purchase will see the translator rebroadcast 102.5 WTSS-HD2. If the current programming of the HD subchannel does not change that will mean the return of News/Talk 930 WBEN to FM following the flip of former simulcaster 107.7 WLKK to Alternative last September (Coverage Map). It may not be as big as any trades made tonight at the NFL Draft, but Educational Media Foundation and American Family Association pulled off a three station swap this week. Clear Channel Sells Florida Keys Stations

Clear Channel has agreed to sell its four station cluster in Key West, FL to Robert Holladay’s Florida Keys Media for $650,000. The stations involved in the sale are CHR 92.7 WEOW Key West, Country “Thunder Country 100.3” WCTH Plantation Key, and Classic Rock simulcast “Sun-FM” 99.5 WAIL Key West/103.1 WFKZ Plantation Key. Florida Keys Media agreed to purchase three additional stations in the region from Gamma Broadcasting in August for $500,000. Those stations are Hot AC 97.7 WAVK Marathon, Country “Conch Country 98.7” WCNK Key West, and Classic Hits “US 1 Radio” 104.1 WWUS Big Pine Key.
