Cumulus Adds Woody Show In Kansas City, New Orleans & Salt Lake City

Following the addition of Premiere Networks’ The Woody Show at AAA 104.5 KFOG San Francisco/97.7 KFFG San Jose last month, Cumulus Media is adding the show at its Alternative stations in Kansas City, New Orleans and Salt Lake City. The Woody Show will debut on “Alt 92.3” WRKN Laplace/New Orleans, “Alt 101.9” KHTB Ogden/Salt Lake City, and “X105.1” KCJK Garden City/Kansas City on Monday, May 21. WRKN had been jockless in mornings, while The Woody Show replaces Fook and Lindsey at KHTB and Shawn Quinn at KCJK. Entercom has completed the move of Urban Oldies “Hot 103.7” 1350 WWWL/W279DF New Orleans to 92.9. The move was caused by the upgrade and move of W279DF to 92.9 with a higher antenna height of 250w/197m to increase its coverage of the market. No programming changes accompanied the frequency change. Entercom, the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content in the United States, announced today the relaunch of New Orleans classic R&B station HOT 103.7 as The New HOT 92.9 FM (W225CZ). A lineup shakeup is taking place at Entercom Sports “670 The Score” WSCR Chicago. Robert Feder reports that Jared Goff is out as afternoon co-host with Dan McNeil likely to return to a fulltime position at the station for the first time since exiting middays in 2014. McNeil returned to WSCR in January to host a Sunday morning show after co-hosting mornings on Hubbard Classic Rock “97.1 The Drive” WDRV in 2015-16. The Chicago Tribune adds that McNeil is likely to be paired in afternoons with Danny Parkins, who joined WSCR as midday co-host in January 2017. Bristol Broadcasting is expanding into a fourth market with the purchase a pair of stations in Huntington WV from Mortenson Broadcasting. Bristol will acquire Southern Gospel 1200 WYSN and 107.9 WEMM-FM Huntington and the CP for 95.3 W237ER Huntington (which will rebroadcast WYSN) for $2.5 million. Bristol owns clusters in adjacent Charleston WV as well as Paducah KY and Bristol/Johnson City/Kingsport TN/VA.
