Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna has withdrawn its license to cover for 98.3 W252AW Chicago filed in April 2017 after a series of petitions to deny filed by veteran Chicago engineer and reporter Larry Langford. Centro Cristiano had been filing a series of applications to hop W252AW from Chicago's western suburbs with the intent to bring it to downtown Chicago. Langford filed a Petition To Deny in December 2017 stating that many of the previous Construction Permits were never built out showing that a July 2016 License To Cover on a tower owned by the Illinois Department of Transportation, an October 2016 LTC on the tower of CBS Radio's 670 WSCR, and a March 2017 LTC on a tower owned by the Chicago Transit Authority could not have been built as claimed as all three tower owners were never ...[Read More]

Big Country 97.5 Debuts In Wichita Falls

Falls Media completed its move and upgrade of Regional Mexican “96.3 La Ley” KXXN Iowa Park/Wichita Falls TX on February 1 and flipped it to Classic Country “Big Country 97.5“. Falls Media President Dan Balla tells us that the station is the first affiliate of Scott Shannon and Gary Reynolds’ new Classic Country network. Reynolds spent 18 years programming “Real Country” for ABC Radio/Citadel/Cumulus and Shannon’s “True Oldies Channel“. The station is focusing on Country hits of the 1970s through 90s. FCC Actions The FCC has rejected Roy Henderson's Petition For Reconsideration for the deletion of 99.7 KROY Palacios TX. Henderson had previously admitted to operating KROY from March 1 through 9, 2013 and December 23, 2013 through January 2, 2014 at sites without a license or STA while mostly being silent from the dismantling of its tower in November of 2007 and March 15, 2014 when it began Program Test Authority from its replacement site. The new “102.3 The Bull” will feature Bobby Bones in mornings, Dave Diamond in afternoons, and Townsquare’s syndicated Taste of Country Nights with Sam Alex in evenings. Rothschild had purchased WKTT and News/Talk 1320 WICO Salisbury from Delmarva Broadcasting in November 2015 for $300,000. 95.5 ESPN Debuts In Wichita Falls

LKCM Radio’s 95.5 KJKB Scotland, TX has completed its move-in into the Wichita Falls market. As of this morning the station is Sports “95.5 ESPN“. The station’s call letters are now KXPN-FM. Prior to moving to the Wichita Falls market the station ran a Classic Rock format as “Boss 95.5“.

KIXC-FM LLC. has debuted its permanent format on 96.3 KXXN Iowa Park/Wichita Falls, TX. After stunting as “Holiday 96.3” from October 23 until yesterday when the stunt shifted to “Stripper Music” leading up until today’s 12pm debut of CHR “Wild 96.3“. Billed as “The Falls Party Station”, the new format takes direct aim at Townsquare Media’s Adult leaning 92.9 KNIN and Cumulus’ Rhythmic CHR “Hot 103.9” KQXC.

Blake-FM Launches In Wichita Falls

Townsquare Media has relaunched Country “Lonestar 102” KWFS Wichita Falls as “102.3 Blake-FM“. The Blake format devised by Folger Media, is a current intensive Country format based off the similarly formatted “93.3 Jake-FM” KJKE Oklahoma City. The station becomes Townsquare’s third Blake-FM branded station in Texas, joining flips this year in Amarillo and Lubbock.

Christmas Comes To Wichita Falls

96.3 KXXN Iowa Park/Wichita Falls TX has returned to the air with Christmas music. The stationhad previously been Country “Cat Country 96.3” before going dark around the time of its sale in June. KIXC-FM LLC. acquired the station from Towers Investment Trust for $240,000. KIXC-FM LLC also owns Variety Hits “100.9 Bob-FM” KWFB in Wichita Falls.
