http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/09/AR2009060902997.html

Probably a good move for them. 980/92.7/94.3 has never lived up to its potential, and the fact that Redskins owner Dan Snyder owns them doesn't help. Snyder's not exactly the most popular guy in town here.

Should be an good battle. Snyder will try to keep 106.7 away from the Skins and 106.7 will be talking trash on Snyder every chance they get. 106.7 would be smart to stay local during the day and promote themselves as an independent (not Redskins-affiliated) voice in DC sports.

My money is on CBS here. The 106.7 signal isn't the best in the market, but it's way better than 92.7 or 94.3. 980 actually beats them all signal-wise, but AM just isn't a factor in this market anymore. What will be interesting to see is when Snyder wants to throw in the towel- he spent a lot of money on those signals and there's no way he's going to be able to make money with a 1-share.
