Tim Hattrick has rejoined iHeartMedia Country 102.5 KNIX Phoenix for mornings.
Hattrick, who previously hosted mornings at KNIX with Willy D. Loon from 1998 through 2007, will join incumbent co-hosts Ben Campbell and Brooke Hoover starting today for “Tim, Ben & Brooke”. He replaces Matt McAllister and producer Joe Wallace who were let go at the end of 2016.
Hattrick is a longtime mainstay in the Phoenix market, most with former co-host Willy. He was part of the morning show at CHR “Y95” KOY-FM in the late 1980s led by Glenn Beck. In addition to their ten year run at KNIX, he and Willy were hosted mornings together at 107.9 KMLE twice, “Wild Country 103.5” KWCY, “94.7 Kicks Country” WKXK Chicago, and in self-syndication from 2012-2014.
Ben Campbell joined KNIX in 2007 to replace Tim & Willy. He also replaced Hattrick at KMLE in 1996 with then-partner Brian Egan. McAllister joined him in 2008, while Brooke Hoover was promoted to third billed co-host last summer.
Along with the morning show change, KNIX has tweaked its playlist to add more gold categories and shift away from a mostly current/recurrent presentation. In the December 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings, KNIX ranked 11th in the Phoenix market with a 3.4 share, while CBS’ 107.9 KMLE led it with a 9th place 3.9 share.
