One year after transferring from Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago to Country “Kicks 101.5” WKHX Atlanta, Brian Thomas has exited the Program Director role at the station.
Thomas also served as Vice President of Classic Hits Programming and as member of the Corporate Country programming team for Cumulus. He originally joined the company in 2014 to program “94.7 Nash-FM” WNSH New York. He has overseen many well known brands over the years. He oversaw the flip of “Q105” WRBQ Tampa from Top 40 to Country in the early 1990s and later returned to serve as VP/Programming for the then CBS Radio cluster there while programming. Thomas also has programmed Country 99.5 WQYK and the Classic Hits iteration of “Q105”. He also has programmed Country 93.3 KYCY/Oldies 99.7 KFRC San Francisco and served as the Program Director that returned 101.1 WCBS-FM New York from “Jack-FM” to Classic Hits and launched AC “Fresh 102.7” WWFS New York. Thomas also held the role of Vice President of Classic Hits for CBS Radio.
Country Aircheck reports that APD/midday host Scott Gaines will serve as Interim Program Director at WKHX while Cumulus/Atlanta OM Louie Diaz and VP/Country Charlie Cook will oversee the search for a permanent successor.
