iHeartMedia has found a way to keep one of the two stations it lost its grandfathered statusa for during its bankruptcy restructuring.
The company will take back Classic Rock “107.7 The Fox” WHFX Darien GA as the station will now fit under the company’s ownership cap in the Brunswick market. That was due to the company changing the city-of-license on Urban AC “V101.5” WSOL-FM from Brunswick to Yulee FL. That change placed WSOL-FM in the Jacksonville FL market for FCC purposes.
Wayne Ferree’s Tiger Butte Broadcasting acquires Standards 1310 KEIN Great Falls MT from court appointed receiver Steve Fitzpatrick for no consideration. KEIN was previously owned by Stephen Dow’s Munson Broadcasting, which was embattled for nearly a decade in legal battles with tower and studio site land owner Creed Evans. Placing the station in receivership was part of the court ordered settlement for Dow to pay Evans money owed to him.
