After two decades together at iHeartMedia Country “Bob 94.9” WRBT Harrisburg PA, the “Nancy & Newman” morning show hosted by Nancy Ryan and Bob Newman has come to an end.
Ryan had been part of the station’s morning show since the station flipped to Country in 1997. She previously worked in the market at Oldies “Kool 94.9” and later “Kool 99.3” WWKL and had a brief stint at 97.1 WBNS-FM Columbus OH.
Newman joined the show in 2001 with his on-air name coming from being “Bob’s New Man”. After stints as APD/MD he was promoted to Program Director in 2017. Before Harrisburg he worked at WKRZ Scranton, WZPT Pittsburgh and KRUZ Santa Barbara CA.
We have confirmed Ryan’s exit from the company as part of iHeartMedia’s ongoing layoffs. Newman’s status is up in the air. He is still listed as morning host on the station, however we are told it is not certain whether he will return. His only public comment is a Facebook post of “You Are Being Lied To”, but vague in terms of whether it is about his status or politics.
Also exiting iHeartMedia this week is Classic Rock “97.3 The River” WRVV morning co-host Amy Warner. She and co-host Glenn Hamilton were also heard on Variety Hits “92.9 Tom-FM” WRDX Smyrna/Dover DE. She previously co-hosted mornings at Rock 93.5 WTPA, Hot AC “Mix 106.7” WMHX and Classic Rock 92.1 WTPA in the market.
