Update 1/1: After stunting for a few days with a loop of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, 730 KINF debuted its new identity as Sports “ESPN 730 Boise” at 12am this morning.
Original Report 11/30: With Cumulus dropping ESPN Radio from its Sports stations in many markets in favor of CBS Sports Radio in January, the network continues to lock up new affiliates.
In Boise, the new station will be Impact Radio Group’s 730 KINF. KINF currently simulcasts a News/Talk format with sister “Newsradio 99.1” KINF-FM Mountain Home, which will continue with that format. “ESPN 730 Boise” will debut on January 1 with coverage of the Rose and Orange Bowls.
The station will be going up against Cumulus’ “93.1 The Ticket” KTIK-FM (simulcast of 1350 KTIK). That station will be replacing 18 hours of daily programming with the network switch from ESPN to CBS Sports.
