Update 4/1: The Rhythmic “Power” format moved from 106.3 to 106.7 just after 8am this morning.
The Mainstream CHR format of “OMG 106.7” went the opposite direction with a new moniker. KAGM is now branded as “Z106.3 Hit Music Now”.
Original Report 3/28: American General Media Urban “Power 106.3” KAGM Los Lunas/Albuquerque, NM will make a slight move up the dial on April 1.
At 8:00am on Monday, Power will move to 106.7 displacing CHR “OMG 106.7” KDLW Los Alamos. The station is promoting the fact that they will have a better, static-free signal in the market. 106.3 operates 98.1kW at 261 meters with a signal originating about 30 miles south of Albuquerque. 106.7 is even further away from the city, but from its point north of the market also puts a signal into Santa Fe. It is licensed to operate with 43kW at 592 meters.
“OMG Radio” departs a three-way Mainstream CHR battle that also includes Cumulus’ 93.3 KKOB-FM and Clear Channel’s “Channel 95.1” KLQT.
No word yet on what will replace Power on the 106.3 facility.
