Cumulus’ “All News 106.7” WYAY Atlanta is moving in a slightly more full service direction.
Longtime Atlanta market talker Kim ‘Kimmer’ Peterson will join the station on Monday, November 4 to host a 12-3pm midday talk show. Peterson has been out of radio since leaving afternoons at Clear Channel’s 640 WGST in 2006.
Meanwhile as part of a long-term contract renewal between Dickey Broadcasting’s “680/93.7 The Fan” WCNN and the Atlanta Braves, Cumulus will move its simulcast of the game broadcasts from “Rock 100.5” WNNX to 106.7. Announcers Don Sutton and Jim Powell also have re-upped for multiple years.
WYAY flipped from Classic Hits to News in April 2012 and has been slowly climbing in the ratings ever since. It registered a 1.9 share in the September PPM’s.
