Mapleton Communications will expand into Louisiana with the purchase of Opus Broadcasting’s stations in Alexandria and Monroe.
The $2.2 Million purchase includes seven stations between the two markets as well as assumption of a Time Brokerage Agreement and a Joint Sales Agreement with two others. The stations included are:
Alexandria: Country “http://www.la103.com/”>LA 103.5” KLAA-FM, Christian AC “104.3 The Bridge” KEZP, Classic Country “105.5 K-Buck” KBKK, and operations of AC “Sunny 106.9” KEDG via Time Brokerage Agreement with Flinn Broadcasting
Monroe: Country “92.3 The Wolf” KMYY, AC “Sunny 98.3” KZRZ, CHR “Hot 103.1” KQLQ, and Rock “Rock 106.1” KXRR. The cluster also has a Joint Sales Agreement with Urban AC “Majic 97.3” KMJG owner KP Music Group.
Mapleton operates primarily on the west coast with clusters in California, Oregon, and Washington. Opus previously sold its Tallahassee stations in November. This sale will mark the company’s exit from radio.
