Susan Uecker, the bankruptcy court appointed receiver for Pappas Radio of California, has sold Spanish Sports “ESPN Deportes 860” KTRB San Francisco to John Douglas’ U.S. International Radio for $6.5 million. Deportes Media of California, which operates the station via LMA, has right of first refusal to purchase the station through June 21, but has stated to the seller that it will not exercise that option.
Mark Heller’s Metro North Communications sells Easy Listening 98.9 WEMP Two Rivers, WI to Seehafer Broadcasting for $380,000. WEMP will join a Seehafer cluster including AC “Lake 98.1” WLKN, Classic Rock “Q102.3” WQTC, and Talk 1240 WOMT. WEMP already operates out of the same building as Seehafer’s stations.
Brown Maloney’s Radio Pacific, Inc. purchases Classic Hits “Strait 102.1” KSTI Port Angeles, WA from Owensville Communications for $280,000. The buyer owns News/Talk 1450 KONP/101.7 K269FX Port Angeles and the Construction Permit for a new FM on 104.9 in Sequim, WA.
Vernon Egli and Victor M. Vickers’ Madison Media Partners has acquired the CP for 96.1 WOHA Ashtabula, OH from Alex Media for $1 cash and $10,000 in “kind design, project management, construction and operational support services” by the buyers for current or future seller projects.
On Santa Catalina Island off the coast of California, The Catalina Island Conservatory is donating Silent 89.1 KCFH Two Harbors, CA to Common Frequency, Inc.
Christopher Boone’s Southeast Texas Telecom acquires Silent 1300 KSET Lumberton/Beaumont, TX from Procton-Williams, Inc. for $100.
Translator Sales
The University of Florida is buying the CP for 102.7 W274BT Williston/Gainesville, FL from Edgewater Broadcasting for $46,001. As part of a rebroadcast option agreement starting May 1, UF will pay $10,000 down and $500 per month for seventy-two months to operate the translator and an additional $1 when exercising the purchase agreement. The University of Florida states it will rebroadcast either Classical 89.1 WUFT-HD2 or Sports “ESPN 850” WRUF, both of which are operated by the school.
Bill McCutcheon’s Waco Entertainment Group purchases the CP for 93.7 K229CS Waco, TX from American Educational Broadcasting for $60,000. K229CS will rebroadcast a subchannel of the buyer’s CHR “Power 108” 107.9 KWPW Robinson.
Gerald Proctor sells 102.5 K273AL Livington, TX to Marvin Hicks for $20,000. K273AL will rebroadcast HGN Music & Education Foundation’s 104.3 KXAX-LP Livingston.
Life On The Way Communications continues its sell-off with 89.9 K210CH Oak View/Ventura, CA going to Cal State University Northridge for $55,000. K210CH will rebroadcast AAA 88.5 KCSN Northridge/Los Angeles.
The Catholic Diocese of Dodge City sells the CP for 94.7 K234CG Dodge City, KS to The Translator Group for $10,000. The buyer intends to rebroadcast Steckline Communications Country “100.9 The Bull” KGBL Lakin.
Calvary Chapel of Westmoreland County acquires 97.9 W250AU Jeannette, PA from He’s Alive, Inc. for $22,500 to rebroadcast the buyer’s 100.3 WJLW-LP Greensburg.
Celebration Ministries purchases 91.1 W216BM Okolona, KY from Calvary Chapel of Twin Falls for $90,000. W216BM will rebroadcast New Albany High School’s 88.1 WNAS New Albany, IN/Louisville.
