Cumulus has also registered 1025JackFM.com purporting to a potential move of the format to 102.5 K273BZ Kansas City KS/94.9 KCMO-HD2. That is currently the home of Alternative "102.5 The Underground". With the X branding used in the 1990s by Alternative 107.3 KNRX it would be a return to the market should the format move en-masse to 105.1. Original Report 6/7: Cumulus Variety Hits "105.1 Jack-FM" KCJK Kansas City doesn't appear to have many days left to live. Cumulus registered X1051KC.com for the station on Friday and social media accounts for the new brand have been reserved. KCJK currently ranks tied for 13th in the Kansas City market with a 3.6 share, however as sister Classic Hits 94.9 KCMO-FM and Classic Rock "101 the Fox" KCFX skew more towards the 80s and 90s it has created more overlap with KCJK. Eliminating Jack-FM could also allow the second ranked KCFX and third ranked KCMO-FM to rise above Entercom's market leading Hot AC "99.7 The Point" KZPT. We could see the "X105.1" branding used for multiple formats. Something in the Rock genre to attack Entercom's Active Rock 98.9 KQRC and Alternative "96.5 The Buzz" KRBZ? Classic Hip-Hop? Urban to create a sales pair with "Magic 107.3" KMJK? [/membership]
