As the FCC currently processes the longform applications from its July window for new translators for Class C & D AM stations, the agency has set the timetable for the second window for any AM.
The second filing window will run from 12:01am on January 25 through 6:00pm eastern on January 31, 2018. Like the first auction any unresolved mutually-exclusive filings will be resolved through an auction. The only stations eligible for the filing window will be any AM station that did not participate in the 250 mile waiver periods in 2016 or the first filing window this year.
In preparation for the filing window, a temporary freeze on all translator, LPFM, or booster modification applications will begin on January 18. The full order with all the details is available here.
