Connoisseur Media Country 97.9 KGNC-FM Amarillo TX has added multiple radio hall of fame inductee Blair Garner as afternoon host.
Garner, a native of nearby Canyon TX, began his career in the market as a teenager at 107.9 KHBQ-FM in 1981. He would spend time at KAFM Dallas, KHFI Austin, KKBQ Houston, and WASH Washington before joining WPLJ New York in 1988 as ‘Skye Walker’. Garner moved to 102.7 KIIS-FM Los Angeles as ‘Blair Michaels’ in 1991 before launching the syndicated Country overnight show “After Midnite” in November 1993. Garner anchored that show until 2013 when he joined Cumulus Media to first anchor “America’s Morning Show” until 2016 when he moved back to overnights for the “Blair Garner Show” until August 2020.
Garner would be inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2013 and Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2016.
