SBS Moves La Zeta In Western Puerto Rico

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
February 7, 2018

Z93 93.7 WZNT San Juan 97.5 MayaguezAs facilities are rebuilt in Puerto Rico following the devastation of Hurricane Maria, stations are starting to come back online but not necessarily with what they carried before.

Spanish Broadcasting System made such a move this week as 97.5 WIOB Mayaguez has returned to the air as a simulcast of Salsa “Z93” 93.7 WZNT San Juan serving the western half of the island. Prior to the hurricane, WZNT’s programming was on International Broadcasting Corporation’s 92.1 WZET Hormigueros via LMA and SBS’ 93.3 WZMT Ponce. WIOB previously simulcast with Spanish AC “Estereo Tempo” 96.5 WRXD Fajardo/San Juan, which remains Silent.

The most important communications company on the island, Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (SBS) continues its solid commitment to bring the best in programming to all corners of the Island. After the passage of Hurricane Maria, the main salsa station in Puerto Rico, Zeta 93, confronted problems with the frequency that transmitted its programming for the western area of ??the Island. After hard work, today, the company announced that its listeners will be able to enjoy it through signal 97.5 FM.

“I am extremely happy because it was achieved that Zeta 93 was heard again in the western area of ??Puerto Rico, now through the powerful frequency 97.5FM. There were many calls, texts and messages on social networks that told us the lack What made them Zeta 93. Due to Hurricane Maria, the old signal 92.1FM was out of the air, and for several months we were working to please the large audience that follows this musical genre, of which Zeta 93 is the official radio station, “he said. Néstor Galán, Programming Director of Zeta 93.
