Clark Parrish’s Edgewater Broadcasting was formed with the intent of accumulating translators in the 2003 FCC filing period. Of the nearly 1700 applications made, the non-profit group was granted 484 construction permits.

While many of those translators have since been sold or leased to other operators, Edgewater has used those translators (and five full powered non-commercial FMs) to form the base of their Christian “Freedom Radio FM” network. Through a series of filings made with the FCC this week, Edgewater is now seeking to donate its five FMs and 116 remaining translator licenses and Construction Permits to Amarillo TX based Radio By Grace. The donee owns the Christian “Radio By Grace” network heard on 88.7 KRBG Umbarger and 99.7 KBZD Amarillo TX through related Grace Community Church of Amarillo.

After announcing its intent last month to sell Public 91.5 WSGN Gadsden AL, Gadsden State Community College has sold the station to Educational Media Foundation for $230,000.

Kingdom Radio Network’s Communications and Educational Development Initiatives donates Gospel 1540 WKDG and the CP for 97.7 W249EC Sumiton AL to Save Our Daughterz. WKDG seller Carnetta Brown is President of the buying group.

Translator Sales

Robbins Partners sells its pair of translators in Macon GA in separate deals. 102.9 W275CC goes to Joshua Hale’s LLF Holdings for $5,000, while the CP for 107.9 W300EB goes to Creek Media for $22,500. W275CC currently rebroadcasts Creek Media’s Americana “100.9 The Creek” WNEX-FM Perry, while 100.9 will rebroadcast Gospel “100.5 The Light” 1400 WNEX.

One of Edgewater Broadcasting’s translators will be going to another operator as Andy Henckel’s Montana Broadcasting acquires 104.1 K281CH Missoula MT for $40,000. The group currently operates K281CH as Rhythmic CHR “Wild 104” rebroadcasting 102.5 KMSO-HD4.
