iHeartMedia has announced the promotion of Bridgett Knupp to Market President for their Harrisonburg VA cluster.
Knupp has served as Senior Vice President of Sales for the cluster since 2011 after beginning her career as an account executive in 2001.
iHeartMedia announced today that Bridgett Knupp has been named Market President for Harrisonburg, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Harrisonburg has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than six stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Market President, Knupp will oversee the six radio station brands and work with partners and advertisers to create new revenue opportunities. She will also be responsible for the market’s operations including sales, on-air and digital programming, events and promotion initiatives. She will report to Chuck Peterson, Area President for iHeartMedia Virginia Community Markets.
“I am excited to have Bridgett begin her new role as the leader of our Harrisonburg and Staunton group of station brands,” said Peterson. “She is already known and respected in the local business community through her previous roles with iHeartMedia Harrisonburg. “She has a proven track record of sales leadership and is outstanding in the area of digital advertising.
Knupp moves into the market president role in Harrisonburg after serving as the senior vice president of Sales for the operation since 2011. She began her career with the company as an account executive in 2001. She is a graduate of Emory and Henry College and is currently working toward her MBA at James Madison University.
“I am very proud of the work we have accomplished in the Harrisonburg and Staunton markets,” said Knupp. “We have iconic brands in this market with KCY Country and 98 ROCK and are looking forward to continued success in helping our community and advertisers. I want to thank the iHeartMedia Harrisonburg team for all of their help and guidance and I am humbled to work alongside some of the industry’s best talent.”
