Radio One Indianapolis has announced the passing of “La Grande 105.1” W286CM/WNOW-HD3 Indianapolis Program Director/afternoon host Grisel Barajas.
A GoFundMe setup for her funeral costs states that the 31 year old Barajas was involved in a motorcycle crash on Sunday, June 14. The native of Guadalajara MX relocated with her family to Chicago as a child and started her career in Evansville IN as a producer/reporter at WEHT-TV and then on-air at Adult R&B “Magic 98.5” 1400 WEOA and Public News/Talk 88.3 WNIN-FM.
She came to Indianapolis as Promotions Director/host at Continental Broadcasting’s in March 2015. She joined W286CM in February 2018 and also previously voicetracked middays at Radio One CHR “Radio Now 92.1” KROI Seabrook/Houston TX and was a host for Urban One’s “Telemundo Indianapolis” WDNI-LP.

The sudden passing of Grisel Barajas has deeply shocked and saddened us. As the Program Director for LaGrande 105.1, Grisel was a valued colleague and trusted friend. She was taken away from us too soon and will be missed by all of us at Radio One Indianapolis and the entire Urban One family.
