Saga Communications flipped CHR “Hits 99.7” W259BG/WIXY-HD3 Champaign IL to Soft AC “EZ 99.7” on Friday, April 22.
The new format launched after Saga took the translator off the air for two weeks in preparation of the format change. It creates a flanker to Saga Hot AC “Mix 94.5” WLRW against Champaign Multimedia Group AC “Lite Rock 97.5” WHMS-FM, while leaving Stevie Jay Broadcasting’s “Q96” WQQB as the only CHR in the market.
Saga operates the “EZ” Soft AC brand on translators in seven other markets including Des Moines.
