104.1 KRBE HoustonNielsen begins its monthly release of PPM ratings with today’s Day 1 update including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston/Galveston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Long Island, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Jose, and Middlesex/Somerset/Union.

MediaCo Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS takes the New York market lead to start the new year rising up 6.2 to 6.6. iHeartMedia AC “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW slips from 11.2 to 6.0. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM rises 4.6 to 5.3. iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ places fourth up 4.1 to 4.7. SBS Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ is fifth 4.5 to 4.6.

Trending up in New York: Audacy Sports 660 WFAN/101.9 WFAN-FM (3.0 to 3.8), Public News/Talk 820 WNYC-FM (2.7 to 3.5), Red Apple Media Conservative Talk 770 WABC (2.3 to 3.0 and adding an additional 1.1 on its stream), and iHeartMedia Conservative Talk 710 WOR (2.1 to 2.8).

Trending down: iHeartMedia Hot AC 103.5 WKTU (4.1 to 3.2).

The Hip Hop stations in New York continue to struggle as iHeartMedia’s “Power 105.1” WWPR-FM trends down (3.4 – 2.5 – 2.3), MediaCo’s “Hot 97” WQHT continues to slip down to new record lows (2.2 – 2.1 – 2.0), Audacy Classic Hip Hop “94.7 The Block” WXBK inches up 1.1 to 1.2.

iHeartMedia AC 103.5 KOST leads Los Angeles with a 6.3 share. Audacy Classic Hits “K-Earth 101” KRTH rises 4.4 to 5.6. iHeartMedia Hot AC “104.3 My-FM” KBIG rises 4.2 to 4.6. Univision Spanish AC “107.5 K-Love” KLVE is fourth 4.3 to 4.4. Audacy Rhythmic AC “94.7 The Wave” KTWV is fifth 3.9 to 4.2.

In its first monthly with its AM and FM numbers combined, Audacy News 1070 KNX/97.1 KNX-FM trends up 2.6 – 2.8 – 3.1. iHeartMedia News/Talk 640 KFI rises 3.0 to 3.7.

Two stations tie atop Chicago. Audacy News 780 WBBM/105.9 WCFS rises 5.6 to 5.7, while iHeartMedia Adult R&B “V103” WVAZ dips 5.9 to 5.7. Public News/Talk 91.5 WBEZ jumps up 4.8 to 5.4. Nexstar Talk 720 WGN surges 3.5 to 5.2. iHeartMedia AC “93.9 Lite-FM” WLIT is fifth 14.4 to 5.1.

Audacy Country “US99” WUSN jumps up 2.0 to 3.1. Also trending up in Chicago are iHeartMedia’s “Rock 95.5” WCHI-FM (2.1 – 2.3 – 2.5), Hubbard AC 100.3 WSHE (1.6 – 1.8 – 2.2), and EMF Christian AC “K-Love” 97.9 WCKL (0.8 to 1.3).

Public News/Talk 88.5 KQED-FM leads San Francisco with a 7.9 to 8.5 gain. Audacy News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFRC is second 6.7 to 7.1. Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT is third 11.1 to 5.9. iHeartMedia Hot AC “Star 101.3” KIOI rises 3.9 to 4.6 to tie for fourth with Cumulus Sports 680 KNBR/104.5 KNBR-FM (3.3 to 4.6).

Audacy Hot AC “Alice 97.3” KLLC rises 2.5 to 3.9. iHeartMedia Classic Hits “80s Plus 103.7” KOSF rises 2.8 to 3.3. Audacy’s October launch of Variety Hits “105.3 Dave-FM” KITS slips 1.5 to 1.3.

Service Broadcasting Adult R&B “Smooth 105.7” jumps up 3.7 to 4.5. Service Hip Hop “K104” KKDA-FM (3.4 to 4.3) ties for fifth with iHeartMedia AC “Star 102.1” KDGE (10.6 to 4.3).

Trending up in Dallas: Cumulus Sports “96.7/1310 The Ticket” KTCK/KTCK-FM (2.6 to 3.7), Audacy Sports “105.3 The Fan” KRLD-FM (2.2 – 2.4 – 2.6), and Audacy Alternative “Alt 103.7” KVIL (1.6 – 1.8 – 2.0). Cox Media Group is back to its usual four out of the top five spots in Atlanta. Adult R&B “Kiss 104.1” WALR (7.4 to 7.1) and Classic Rock “97.1 The River” WSRV (7.3 to 7.1) tie for first. News/Talk 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB rises 5.8 to 6.9. Cumulus CHR “Q99.7” WWWQ surges 4.4 to 6.1 for fourth. AC “B98.5” WSB-FM is fifth 6.3 to 5.6.

Both Country stations rebound in Atlanta. Cumulus’ “New Country 101.5” WKHX is up 2.5 to 2.8, while iHeartMedia’s “94.9 The Bull” WUBL goes 2.0 to 2.5. Dickey Broadcasting Sports “680/93.7 The Fan” WCNN jumps 1.1 to 1.9. iHeartMedia Spanish CHR “Z105.7” WBZY rises 0.5 to 1.2, although sister CHR “Power 96.1” WWPW slides 3.7 to 3.2.

Beasley Media Rock 93.3 WMMR leads Philadelphia as it trends up 6.6 – 7.1 – 7.6. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM leads Nassau/Suffolk down 7.5 to 7.4. Connoisseur Media Hot AC 97.5 WALK (9.8 to 5.1) and MediaCo Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS (4.7 to 5.1) tie for second. Cox Rock 102.3 WBAB-FM is fourth 3.9 to 3.8. The iHeartMedia New York stations are no longer listed in the Nassau/Suffolk numbers.

The Middlesex/Somerset/Union leaderboard tightens. SBS Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ-FM leads down 6.6 to 6.0. Pillar of Fire Christian AC “Star 99.1” WAWZ trends up 4.1 – 5.2 – 5.9 to tie for second with Townsquare Media Talk/Classic Hits “New Jersey 101.5” WKXW (4.9 to 5.9). MediaCo Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS dips 5.9 to 5.6. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM jumps up 4.0 to 5.2. Like Long Island, iHeartMedia’s New York stations do not appear in the New Jersey suburbs.

Alpha Media Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX leads San Jose up 5.4 to 6.0. Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT is second 12.1 to 5.9. Univision Spanish AC “Amor 100.3” KBRG trends up 4.7 – 5.1 – 5.7. Empire Broadcasting Country 95.3 KRTY rises 4.0 to 5.4 to tie Audacy News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFRC (steady at 5.4).
