Following Friday’s retirement of Bill Tafrow, Audacy AC “B101” WBEB Philadelphia has filled the slot from within as Michael Bennett moves into the daypart.
Bennett moves over to WBEB from afternoons at the now-defunct Hot AC “New 96.5” WTDY-FM following its flip to Country a couple of weeks ago. He spent thirteen years at 96.5 through multiple formats and brands including Rhythmic CHR “Wired 96.5“, CHR “96.5 Amp Radio“, AC “Today’s 96.5“, CHR “96.5 TDY“, and “The New 96.5” brands with time in mornings, middays, and afternoons. He also previously hosted 12-2pm on WBEB.
Bennett wrote, “Beeyond excited to announce that I’ll now be doing afternoons on one of the most iconic radio stations in the country, B101! This is a dream come true, and I want to thank Romeo for believing in me and giving me this opportunity! The last couple of weeks have been filled with ALL the emotions, and I can’t believe the amount of messages, texts, and DMs I’ve received. Being a part of your day for the past 13+ years has meant everything to me, and I can’t wait to continue that relationship on B101!”
Bennett will be heard from 2-7pm weekdays starting today. Morning co-host Bobby Smith will add the 12-2pm timeslot.
