Educational Media Foundation has announced the internal promotions of Mandy Young to Vice President of Radio and Troy West to Program Director of “K-Love” and “Air 1“.

Young joined EMF in 2009 on the on-air side serving as morning show co-host and then midday host at “Air 1“. She rose to APD/MD for that network in 2018 and then Program Director later that year. She then added programming duties for “K-Love” in October 2020. Prior to joining EMF, Young worked at Christian AC “JQ 99” WJQK Grand Rapids MI. In her new role, Young will “focus her time on long-term vision, strategies, and projects for the networks and help the ministry navigate the ever-changing landscape of radio”.

West joined EMF as Assistant Program Director in November 2021. He previously spent seven years at Christian AC 89.3 KSBJ Houston first as APD from 2014-18 and then Program Director until his move to EMF. He had previously served as Station Manager and PD at “JQ 99” WJQK Grand Rapids MI, PD of “Way FM“, and MD at KFSB and KIXQ Joplin MO.

Educational Media Foundation (EMF), the parent ministry and programmer of the world’s two largest Christian music radio networks, announces the internal advancement of Mandy Young and Troy West. 
 
Effective immediately, Mandy Young takes on the role of vice president of radio. Mandy joined EMF in 2009 and throughout her tenure has served as Air1 morning show co-host, midday host, assistant program director, music director, and in 2018, Air1 program director. In 2020, Mandy’s role expanded again when she was named EMF radio group program director, leading the programming for both Air1 and K-LOVE. 
 
“Mandy’s vision for K-LOVE and Air1, and her heart for the Gospel, has come into full focus,” said Jim Houser, EMF chief content officer. “Her leadership in the creation of a ground-breaking worship format on Air1 and her steering of the K-LOVE on-air sound is shaping the future of both networks. With great colleagues on the team in place, Mandy is ready to bring her incredible intuition, intellect, and experience to additional pieces of EMF’s radio brands.”  
 
Mandy will focus her time on long-term vision, strategies, and projects for the networks and help the ministry navigate the ever-changing landscape of radio. She continues to report directly to Jim Houser. 

Troy West is promoted to EMF radio program director. “Troy is one of the best in the business at making a station sound technically amazing,” Mandy said. “His care and concern for every detail makes him the perfect choice to round out our programming leadership—he has a heart for ministry and I look forward to collaborating with him to take K-LOVE and Air1 to new heights.” 

Hired by Mandy as assistant program director of the EMF radio group in 2021, Troy will continue to report to Mandy as he assumes her former role and will oversee day-to-day programming, talent coaching, and operations for both K-LOVE and Air1. Troy brings expertise and a track record of success from his previous work as program director at 89.3 KSBJ Houston, station manager and program director at JQ99 WJQ Grand Rapids, Mich., and program director at WAY-FM West Palm Beach, Fla.
