iHeartMedia has consolidated its Sports programming in Louisville on 790 WKRD.
The former “790 KRD” has rebranded as “SportsTalk 790” as Matt Jones’ “Kentucky Sports Radio” network programming is moved over to the station from sister “Talk Radio 1080” WKJK.
WKRD, which previously focused on University of Louisville sports, will broaden its focus with a new lineup that will feature KSR’s erry Eaves from 7-8am, Tom Leach from 8-9am, KSR Preshow from 9-10am, Kentucky Sports Radio from 10am-12pm, and J Fox Sports Radio’s Colin Cowherd remains from 11-3pm. Former WKRD morning host Nick Coffey moves to afternoons for “Coffey & Company” from 3-6pm. Fox Sports Radio will air in all other dayparts.
With Kentucky Sports Radio’s move off of WKJK, the station will realign its lineup, but right now it is running loops from Kentucky Sports Radio hosts to move over to 790 in the dayparts that programming was airing.
