WAKE UP CENTRAL WISCONSIN. MAKE SOMEONE’S DAY A LITTLE BRIGHTER.
Great radio is about more than playing the right songs. It’s about becoming part of someone’s routine, making them laugh on the way to work, and giving listeners a reason to keep coming back.
101.9 WDEZ, Central Wisconsin’s top-rated morning show, is looking for its next full-time on-air personality to keep the momentum going. At Midwest Communications, we believe in real, live, local radio. We want personalities who know how to connect with an audience, create compelling content, and bring a brand to life both on and off the air. We work hard, have fun, and love winning as a team.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Co-host WDEZ’s #1 Morning Show, live Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Bring the energy, personality, preparation, and creativity that keeps listeners coming back for more.
- Extend the show’s personality across social media, digital platforms, and video content. Give listeners more ways to connect with the people and the stations they love.
- Represent WDEZ at station events, live broadcasts, and community appearances. Build genuine relationships with listeners.
- Work with local sponsors through endorsement opportunities and relationship-building that connect businesses with the audiences they want to reach.
- Bring fresh ideas, collaborate with your team, and look for new ways to make WDEZ even more engaging, memorable and keep the brand growing.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Be a natural communicator- know how to tell a story, entertain an audience, and make people feel like they’re part of the conversation. Whether your background is traditional radio or digital content creation, you know how to capture attention and keep it. And yes, you must bring the energy at 6:00 AM.
- Have three or more years of experience in on-air broadcasting preferred. Audio/video presence and an established presence as a social media influencer are key.
- Be that relatable person that listeners can connect to; have a genuine appreciation for Country music, Midwest culture, and the communities we serve.
- Have a drive to create great radio content, grow an audience, strengthen the brand, and be part of a team that takes pride in their work.
- You should enjoy collaborating, sharing ideas, and working with others to make the show better.
- Have a valid Wisconsin’s driver’s license, the ability to pass a motor vehicle check, and satisfactory background check.
