Connoisseur Media Connecticut is looking for our newest personality to team up with our current host, Kevin Begley, on the number one rated STAR 99.9 afternoon show. We are looking for the next passionate, open, digital savvy, connected talent to join the “Kevin and (Your Name Here) Show”. This afternoon show personality must be a creative thinker and have the ability to be topical, relevant, and authentic in their on-air work and understand the demographics of STAR 99.9. This candidate will also be expected to help book guests, stay on top of current events, pitch topics/stunts and show arcs as well as build a relationship with the major players in the Connecticut political, entertainment, and news world.Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
Be the co-host of “Kevin and (YOUR NAME HERE) show” from 2pm – 7pm daily.Act as a show producer to come up with daily content for a “morning show in the afternoon” style program.
Preshow, and throughout the day, book guests and stay on top of local news. Show map and plan days ahead.
Host and attend charity events, station functions, and local parades.
Brainstorm and create topics, stunts and arcs that create watercooler talk.
Constantly innovate.
Post, comment and create compelling social media content across all the key platforms.
Qualifications:
Experience in hosting a “radio” style show be it podcasts, YouTube, terrestrial radio, or television.A proven track record of success at social media. An ability to create viral content on a number of different platforms and have a deep knowledge on how to grow likes, comments and views.
Interact with the public at major events and an ability to demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor in/outside of the radio station.
Proficiency in communicating effectively.
Working with a team to succeed at a common goal.
Be connected to everything happening in the news of the day as it relates to Connecticut and/or the STAR 99.9 audience.
