Eleven months after retiring from middays at Townsquare Media Talk/Classic Hits “New Jersey 101.5” WKXW Trenton, Dennis Malloy is returning to his former timeslot alongside Judi Franco starting Monday, July 13.
Malloy moved into a part-time fill-in role at the station last July after a 32 year run at the station mostly paired with Franco. He began his career in 1976 at 1580 WRDI Hammonton NJ and then worked in Hartford before spending time at 610 WIP and in mornings at AC “Sunny 104.5” WSNI and “Kiss 100” WKSZ Philadelphia prior to joining WKXW.
Malloy’s return comes as his successor, Eric ‘EJ’ Johnson rises to Operations Manager and programming roles for Townsquare New Jersey. Johnson, who previously programmed WKXW from 1999 to 2017, will also host weekend music shows and serve as a fill-in talk host. Between 2017 and 2025, Johnson would spend two stints at Beasley Media Group Philadelphia programming Sports “97.5 The Fanatic” WPEN-FM, AC 99.5 WJBR Wilmington DE, and Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK along with on-air roles at WMGK and WROR Boston. Earlier in his career, Johnson held roles as APD of Sports 610 WIP from 1994-99, PD of Hot AC turned Alternative “Y100” 100.3 WPLY from 1991-1994 and CHR “Laser 104.1” WAEB-FM Allentown PA, and worked at 104.5 WSNI Philadelphia and 97.5 WPST Trenton.
