Here’s a deep dive into the 20 most-requested songs on Liveline this past week! Compare it to airplay Top 20 charts and notice which airplay-charting songs are completely absent.
#1. ADÉLA, Ain’t In LA — A very fast climb to the top for one of pop’s most promising stars as 2026 starts to draw to an end. #14 on Spotify US and #4 Global. #1 on many major-market Shazam charts too. Currently #17 on Top 40.
#2. Malcolm Todd, Earrings — It’s a tragedy this song isn’t already Top 5 or even #1 on Top 40, because that’s where it’s been on Spotify and our requests since May! Valuable info: my Instagram pic with Malcolm Todd has generated 100,000 views and gotten 9,000 likes. It tells me the demographics of impressions. 98% came from non-followers. 47.3% of the viewers are 18-24. 19.3% are 13-17 and 26% are 25-34. Those are also the same demos requesting/streaming his music like crazy, yet it’s only #12 on Top 40!
#3. Olivia Rodrigo, Stupid Song
#4. Olivia Rodrigo, The Cure — A majority of our affiliates have added this song in every daypart after seeing the consistent reaction we get on Liveline. It’s still #8 on Spotify on the US where “Stupid Song” is also #6. Obviously “Drop Dead” has been out longer and has more burn, but we only had ONE request for that in the past week. “The Cure” isn’t getting pushed by the label but should that stop you from playing one of this year’s most-streamed songs from the year’s biggest artist? Only #46 on Top 40. It’s a power on Liveline.
#5. Dominic Fike, Babydoll
#6. ADÉLA, Nicole Kidman — #1 on Spotify in the US after the two brand new Tate McRae and Olivia Rodrigo/Chappell Roan songs that just came out Friday. The label is really pushing “Ain’t In LA” but don’t be afraid to play this too! Nobody complains when we play three Olivia or Sabrina songs in an hour. Why shouldn’t ADÉLA’s two big songs get showcased too? Currently #31 on Top 40.
#7. Michael Jackson, Thriller – Getting its yearly Halloween boost in addition to all the kids requesting it who have LOVED all of his music since April.
#8. Tame Impala, Loser
#9. Noah Kahan, Orbiter
#10. Ella Langley, Choosin’ Texas — It’s officially been a year since the release!
#11. KAROL G, Judeline, rusowsky, BbY WOW
#12. Steve Lacy, Oh Yeah?
#13. Bobby “Boris” Pickett, Monster Mash — Most stations only play this for two days at the very end of October, yet Christmas gets all of November and December. (People of all ages love “Monster Mash” and for months have been passionately asking us to play it. So we do!)
#14. The Neighbourhood, Sweater Weather
#15. Ariana Grande, Hate That I Made You Love Me
#16. Noah Kahan, Stick Season
#17. Taylor Swift, Patient Zero — The early hype and super fans made it debut at #8. Last week #10. It was #1 Spotify too but has since dropped to #15 which is a pattern for new Taylor songs that don’t resonate with non-diehard Swifties. Indications that casual people who didn’t even know about her new song don’t really get into this one, unlike “Shake It Off” or “The Fate of Ophelia” which are favorites amongst everyone.
#18. Ashe, Stop The Wedding! – She’s 33 from San Jose, 2019’s “Moral of the Story” only reached #23 on Top 40 but now has over a billion streams on Spotify where this new song is currently #13 in the US and #7 Global. We just added it this week after getting calls and texts for the past few weeks ahead of airplay. Currently #32 on Top 40. Her album just came out last Friday.
#19. The Killers, Mr. Brightside
#20. Zara Larsson, Midnight Sun
