92.7 96.7 The Skunk Fort Bragg Ukiah Mendocino KUNK KMFB Hoot Hooten John RioHooten Broadcasting has debuted AC “The Skunk” on 92.7 KUNK Mendocino, CA and 96.7 K244AH Ukiah branded as “The True Hits Channel”. The station had previously been Oldies KMFB.

Station owner Hoot Hooten will co-host mornings from 6-9am with John Rio, best known for his time as “Mr. Leonard” on Z100 New York. Lindy Peters remains in afternoons. The station is also the local affiliate for San Francisco Giants baseball.

KUNK The Skunk FM new hometown radio hits airwaves as “The True Hits Channel.” broadcasting on FM radio as the newest ‘Young Adult Hits Station.’ Operating out of Ft. Bragg – Mendocino County, CA on 92.7 on the Beaches and 96.7 Inland.

May 21, 2012 – Hooten Broadcasting Company LLC led by Hoot Hooten, is dedicated to providing great local radio, and is committed to being an active and integral part of the communities in which it serves.

Hooten says, “I feel the listener is part of our radio family and that is just another way to continue our commitment to hometown radio, focusing not only on the community but to our advertisers. Broadcasting worldwide on the internet at: http://www.theskunkfm.com expands that community to everyone – everywhere.”

The format has news, sports, weather, and music. Hooten is very pleased to have the
California broadcasting of the SF Giants baseball games as well as exciting local games.

As an award winning Radio Personality and Station Owner, Hooten is using his vast experience in radio, to start something completely new for audience enjoyment which he says is very exciting for him. The loyal listeners that have followed Hoot Hooten and John Rio for many years, are able to hear them as the daily lead men starting off the work day on their new and most entertaining morning show, “Rio and Hoot in the morning,” every weekday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. With the new morning show, KUNK The Skunk FM has already regained the station’s market position. The station’s primary appeal is with the young adult-at-work audience. Adding to the line up “The Afternoon Cruise” manned by Lindy Peters who with his many character voices and extemperaneous wit makes for an enjoyable afternoon.

KUNK The Skunk FM offers a unique blend of music targeting both men and women with a music mix of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and today which is broad based and has mass appeal
for the in-office listener. That and the down-to-earth style of communication is appealing to virtually everyone. Hooten feels as The Skunk FM expands, the station will have the ability
to reach new listeners and uniquely serve advertisers more effectively.

    Hoot Hooten has some impressive major-market credentials, especially in the Los Angeles market where he was “Brad Edwards” at KGBS, KUTE, and KDAY in the 1970s.

    Always good to see radio people owning radio stations.
