Cox News/Talk 96.5 WDBO-FM Orlando has rebranded as it places a higher emphasis on its News elements.

Now identifying as “News 96.5“, WDBO-FM is promoting itself as “Orlando’s New 24 Hour News, Traffic, and Weather“. The move is the latest in a series of brand adjustments over the past couple years. In August 2011, the station began its FM simulcast as it replaced “96 Rock” WHTQ. In November 2012, 580 WDBO broke away from the simulcast to flip to Sports “ESPN Orlando“. Around the same time, Joe Kelley came in from sister KRMG Tulsa to replace 40 year station veteran Jim Turner as News Director/Morning Anchor.
