FCC Update Translator Construction Permit ApplicationsDozens of more new translator CP’s have been granted since our last report.

Clear Channel was one of the biggest beneficiaries as it gained eight new translators:

  • 96.5 W243DB Kingston, NY – 90 watts – // 96.1 WPKF Poughkeepsie
  • 100.1 K261ED St. Louis, MO – 130 watts – // 100.3 KMJM-FM Bridgeton
  • 100.7 W264CT Shorewood, WI – 104 watts – // 100.7 WKKV-FM Racine
  • 103.7 W279CM Mount Vernon IL – 250 watts – // 89.7 WBMV Mount Vernon
  • 104.9 W285EV Houlton, MN – 250 watts – // 107.9 KQQL Anoka

Cavalry Satellite Network gains 103.9 W280EM Chicago, broadcasting with 8 watts from the top of the Willis Tower rebroadcasting 88.1 WTZI Rosemont. CSN also gains CP’s for a few translators in the Chicago suburbs and near Spokane, WA.

  • 95.1 W236CF Homewood, IL – 11 watts – // 89.9 WHLP Hanna, IN
  • 95.1 W236CG Bowlingbrook, IL – 16 watts – // 89.9 WHLP Hanna, IN
  • 93.3 K227CD Spokane, WA – 99 watts – // 97.3 KKRS Davenport

“CBS Sports 810” WRSO Orlovista, FL will gain an FM simulcast via Carl Tutera’s 93.1 W226BT Orlando with 250 watts.

Big Bend Broadcasting’s 94.9 K235CB Chandler, AZ will rebroadcasting the currently silent Phoenix rimshot 99.5 KRPH Morristown with 20 watts from downtown Phoenix.

Educational Media Foundation gains two more signals. 100.3 K262CF Kansas City, KS with 16 watts rebroadcasting 97.3 KLRX Lee’s Summit, MO and 107.5 K298BQ Coeur D’Alene, ID with 250 watts simulcasting 101.9 KTSL Medical Lake, WA.

Northeast Broadcasting AAA “92.5 The River” WXRV Andover, MA gains an additional signal in Boston’s southwest suburbs with 96.5 W243DC Needham. The new translator will operate with 10 watts.

Hispanic Target Media Regional Mexican “Radio Amigo 96.1” KALN Dexter/Roswell, NM has applied to relocate to 102.5. The station will remain as a Class C2 with 50kW while slightly dropping tower height to from 138 to 111.5 meters.

Omni Broadcasting Sports “93.5 The Ticket” WTKP Port St. Joe, FL has applied to boost from a Class C2 on 93.5 with 14.5kW at 204 meters to a C1 on 93.7 with 100kW at 127 meters. The upgrade will increase the station’s coverage of the Panama City market.

Entravision has applied to adjust two of its stations in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Rock “Q94.5” KFRQ Harlingen seeks to boost tower height from 353 meters to 453 meters, while remaining at 100kW. “Jose 101.1” KNVO-FM Port Isabel while drop from 50kW at 148 meters to 141 meters.

Educational Media Foundation has agreed to purchase the CP for 96.1 W241BT Vance, AL from Summit Media for $27,000. The translator, which will rimshot Tuscaloosa, is currently licensed to rebroadcast 104.7 WZZK-FM Birmingham with 50 watts.

Great Scott Broadcasting is acquiring 100.3 W262BF Georgetown, DE from Priority Radio for $25,000. Great Scott will utilize the translator to rebroadcast Spanish CHR “Maxima 900” WJWL Georgetown.

Living Way Ministries is donating the CP of 102.1 K271CA Oxnard, CA to Life On The Way Communications for nothing. The CP is licensed to rebroadcast Life On The Way’s 88.9 KTLW Lancaster, CA.
