Crawford Broadcasting’s Christian AC “Pulse 96.7” WPTR Albany, NY has flipped to Oldies as “The New Legends 96.7“. The move puts the station in direct competition with Clear Channel’s 98.3 WTRY.
In a letter to his audience, DJRA President Don Crawford Jr. admits the non-commercial aspects of EMF Broadcasting’s “K-Love” heard locally on 94.5 WYKV and “Air-1” 93.7 WYAI make it hard to compete as a commercial broadcaster. He also states that the new format is necessary to help support sister Christian Preaching “Life 1540” WDCD.
I like this station alot, because it plays music that I grew up with. I remembered some songs on that station when I was a kid. This new station could be a substitute for it. My friend reminded me about it, and switched my radio to Legends 96.7
