Radio FM HD HD2 FMX EMF Clear Channel Translator Report

Applications

The saga of 106.3 W292DV to get on the air in New York has taken another turn. After applying in October to 104.7, the translator has amended its application to stay on 106.3 albeit from a new location in Long Island City, Queens with lower power. If accepted it will operate with 40 watts with city grade coverage over the bulk of Manhattan. Instead of rebroadcasting Clear Channel’s 106.7 WLTW-HD2, the application changes the originating station to 93.5 WVOX New Rochelle, NY.

EMF Broadcasting has applied to move 91.9 W220DM Parma, OH to 92.7 due to displacement from WKJA Brunswick, OH. As part of the move, it will upgrade from 10 to 250 watts and move its transmitter to downtown Cleveland. The originating station will be an HD subchannel of Clear Channel’s 98.1 WKDD.

Perry Broadcasting’s 1140 KRMP Oklahoma City is attempting to get an FM booster in town. Recently acquired 92.1 K221FQ Edmond, OK has applied to move to the northern half of Oklahoma City with 99 watts.

Radio Training Network’s W237CW Pinellas Park, FL has applied to upgrade from 13.5 watts to 250 with coverage of St. Petersburg fed via Clear Channel’s 95.7 WBTP-HD2. The move will require a waiver from RTN’s W237DI West Tampa, which in January applied to upgrade to rebroadcast Clear Channel’s 970 WFLA.

Triad Radio’s W262BY Peoria, IL has applied to downgrade from 200 to 90 watts to alleviate interference concerns from 99.9 WWCT. The translator has been rebroadcasting News/Talk 1470 WMBD, which may be in the process of moving its programming to 102.3 WDQX.

Edgewater Broadcasting’s 101.1 W266BO Mount Pleasant, SC has been granted a CP to shift to 101.3 with a power jump from 27 to 250 watts. The move will give the translator coverage of Charleston. Once complete, programming will originate from Clear Channel’s 103.5 WEZL-HD2.

Approvals

EMF’s 88.7 K204DR Laveen, AZ has been granted a move to 96.5 as K243BN. The 11 watt translator rebroadcasts 89.9 KZAI Superior, AZ from Phoenix’ South Mountain Tower Farm.

89.7 K209EC Kansas City has been granted an upgrade from 8 to 99 watts and a move to 92.9. The translator will rebroadcast Bott Broadcasting’s 760 KCCV Overland Park, KS.

EMF has been granted its upgrade of 96.9 W245AJ Forest Park, OH to 250 watts which will give it coverage of much of the Cincinnati market. Programming will be fed via Clear Channel’s 107.1 WKFS-HD2.

A pair of translators have gained upgrades into Albuquerque. IHR Educational Broadcasting’s 98.9 K255AU Corrales will rebroadcast News/Talk “1550 The Truth” KIVA with 99 watts. Clear Channel’s 100.9 K265CA will rebroadcast Modern Rock “104.1 The Edge” KTEG with 50 watts. Both translators will cover all of the city of Albuquerque.

WSBT, Inc’s 96.1 W241AD South Bend, IN will jump from 15 to 210 watts rebroadcasting News/Talk 960 WSBT.

Bristol Broadcasting’s Sports “ESPN Radio 1560” WPAD Paducah, KY will gain an FM simulcast via 99.5 W258AN Paducah which has a CP to rise from 19 to 250 watts.

Red Mountain Broadcasting has acquired 100.3 W262BL Gulf Shores, AL. The translator has also applied to upgrade from 1 watt to 250 directly across Mobile Bay from Mobile. The translator is currently licensed to be fed by 91.3 WHIL-HD2 Mobile.
