Back in March when Adams Radio Group closed on its acquisition of Great Scott’s Salisbury/Ocean City, MD cluster, the first move they made was to drop the Country format at “Hot Country 107.7” WKHI Fruitland, MD to begin simulcasting Classic Rock “Big 98.5” WGBG Seaford, DE.
The intent at the time was to simulcast for a period and then launch a new format on 98.5 once WKHI completed its upgrade from a Class A to B1 with 23kW at 105 meters (Coverage Map). That will not be the case as today Adams flipped WKHI back to Country as “Your Country K107“.
K107 is debuting with not just 10,000, but 50,000 songs-in-a-row that should take it through the end of the year. The website indicates they will carry Cumulus’ America’s Morning Show and Nash Nights Live with Sean Parr.
I get the feeling that this is a response to WBOC buying 102.5.
Agreed. 50,000 songs in a row also says we just want to knock down Froggy 99.9’s revenue and then figure out the rest.
