Mikey Adams Exits WEEI Nights

Mikey Adams 93.7 WEEI Boston Red Sox EntercomEntercom Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM Lawrence/Boston is making a change in nights.

After eleven years in the 6-10pm slot, “Planet Mikey” with Mikey Adams has been cancelled with Adams exiting the station. Boston.com reports that the station will not immediately fill the vacancy as the station has Boston Red Sox baseball on most nights at least through the end of September. Entercom Boston Market Manager Phil Zachary told Boston.com that, “We made a tough call on Mike but, at the same time, we feel there are some innovative opportunities we’d like to explore over the next few months. As you know, WEEI has extensively–and successfully–revamped every major weekday show over the last three years. The time is right to extend that thinking to nights.”

  1. I wonder if Mike Adams’ show will get replaced by syndicated sports talk.

    • Doubtful. They have plenty of internal talent to take over that time slot, including Mike Mutnansky, Christian Arcand and Danny Picard.
