iHeartMedia has announced the promotion and transfer of Derrick Martin to St. Louis as Region President overseeing the company’s stations in St. Louis and Springfield MO and Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Quad Cities IA.
Martin spent the past five years as Market President for iHeart’s Norfolk VA cluster and previously has served as General Sales Manager for iHeart St. Louis as well as in sales positions for the company in Chicago, Detroit, and Memphis.
iHeartMedia announced today that Derrick Martin has been named Region President for the St. Louis Region, effective immediately. iHeartMedia St. Louis has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises – both broadcast and digital – encompassing 33 radio stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has massive consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Region President, Martin will work with the programming, business and sales teams for radio station brands in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City and Davenport, Iowa and St. Louis and Springfield, Missouri to oversee on-air and digital programming as well as create new business and revenue opportunities. He will report to Tom McConnell, President of the Midwest/Southeast Division for iHeartMedia.

Martin is a 21-year media veteran who most recently served as Market President for iHeartMedia’s Norfolk, Virginia market. Before overseeing iHeartMedia Norfolk, he spent over five years as General Sales Manager for the iHeartMedia St. Louis team. Martin began his career as an account executive at iHeartMedia’s Memphis market and has also worked in various sales positions in the Chicago and Detroit markets for the company. His background also includes serving as Interactive Sales General Manager for Radio One. Martin is a graduate of Tennessee State University.
