Easy Media Sports “ESPN Pensacola” 1450 WBSR/101.1 W266AL Pensacola FL abruptly dropped the format on Wednesday afternoon.
The station, which was being operated via LMA, informed its staff on Wednesday morning that it was ceasing operations and they were being terminated. WBSR featured three hours of local programming daily and ESPN Radio network programming in other dayparts. The Pensacola News-Journal reports the station will return to the air with a new format.
WBSR flipped from AC to Sports in August 2011 under an LMA from Pensacola Sports Radio LLC. The station itself was sold by Frederic T.C. Brewer to his son Dan Brewer in 2016 for $310,253. Dan Brewer then purchased W266AL from Edgewater Broadcasting for $38,000.
