Cumulus Media has appointed Jimmy Steele as Operations Manager for its five stations in Mobile AL and Program Director of Conservative Talk 660 WXQW.
Steele most recently served as PD/Morning Host of iHeartMedia Rock AC “Y102.5” WRFY and Spanish CHR “Rumba 92.3” 1340 WRAW Reading PA until his exit in February. He has also served as SVP/Programming for iHeartMedia Salisbury MD, Director of Operations/Brand Manager for Saga Communications Columbus OH, OM/Director of Programming for Clear Channel San Diego, VP/Programming and PD of CHR 97.9 WNCI Columbus OH, and PD of CHR “107.5 The River” WRVW Nashville.
In Mobile, Steele will oversee Urban “93 BLX” 92.9 WBLX, CHR 97.5 WABD, Urban AC 104.1 WDLT, WXQW, and “Gospel 900” WGOK.
Cumulus Media announces that it has named seasoned radio programming professional Jimmy Steele as Operations Manager for its five-station cluster in Mobile, AL. In the newly created position, Steele will oversee operations for Cumulus Media-Mobile radio stations WABD-FM, WGOK-AM, WBLX-FM, WDLT-FM and WXQW-AM. Steele will also serve WXQW-AM as Program Director.
Steele has more than 30 years’ experience as a program director, operations manager and on-air talent. He joins Cumulus Media from iHeart Media in Reading, PA, where he was Program Director for WRFY-FM and WRAW AM/FM and Morning Show Host on WRFY-FM. Steele also served iHeart Media as Senior Vice President, Programming, for its six stations in Ocean City/Salisbury, MD. Prior to that, he was Director of Operations/Brand Manager for Saga Communications’ four stations Columbus, OH. Previously, Steele held career posts at iHeart Media/Clear Channel, including: Operations Manager and Director of Programming for its seven-station group in San Diego, CA; Regional Vice President/Programming, Columbus, OH and Central Ohio regional markets; and Program Director of WNCI-FM. He was also Program Director for iHeart Media/Clear Channel’s WRVW-FM in Nashville, TN.
