After debuting Dino Costa as its new afternoon show, Alpha Media Sports “102.9/750 The Game” KXTG Portland/K275CH Gresham OR is launching a new 9am-12pm show.
Hosted by former afternoon co-host Justin Myers and former Pacific University basketball player DeVon Pouncey, the new show replaces a delayed simulcast of Brock Huard and Mike Salk from Bonneville’s “710 ESPN” KIRO Seattle. The addition expands KXTG’s local output to 10 hours daily, with Portland based programming airing from 9am to 7pm weekdays.
Noah ‘Chop’ Homsley, who previously co-hosted afternoons with Myers will remain with the station as APD and Executive Producer of Dino Costa’s afternoon show.
Alpha Media, Portland is proud to announce former KXTG Afternoon host, Justin Myers will team up with former Pacific University basketball star, DeVon Pouncey for a live and local Portland sports show. The show will air weekdays starting Monday, June 5th, 9am to 12pm.
Myers grew up in Winston, OR, a small town near Roseburg in southern Oregon. He played football, basketball and baseball at Douglas High School and played junior college baseball in Washington and Oregon. He began his radio career in 2004 hosting a local sports talk show and covering University of Oregon football and basketball. In 2014, he moved to 710 ESPN in Seattle hosting a midday sports talk show and hosting the Mariners pre/post game show.
Pouncey was born in Berkeley, CA, and grew up in Vallejo, CA. He attended Rodriguez High School where he was a three-year varsity basketball player. Upon finishing high school, Pouncey attended Diablo Valley College and had a two-year playing career as a team captain and an all-conference selection. After his two-year stint at Diablo Valley College, Pouncey transferred to Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Media in 2016. During his basketball career at Pacific, Pouncey was the recipient of the Hard-Hat award, Team Most Inspirational Award, Sportsmanship Award, and All-Conference Honorable Mention. During Pouncey’s time at Pacific University he took on internships as a Sports Information Director Student Assistant, as well as a Production team intern for 102.9/750 The Game’s “The Bald Faced Truth”. In addition, he produced and hosted an on-campus radio show called “Vibin With Pounce” on Boxer Radio. He currently hosts a weekly podcast titled “Wake Up and Win with DeVon Pouncey.”
