CBS Radio Classic Hits “K-Hits 104.3” WJMK Chicago has hired Brian Peck to be its new midday host.
Peck most recently hosted mornings at Hubbard Radio AC 100.3 WSHE until his exit in October 2016. Prior to joining WSHE predecessor WILV in 2004 he spent eight years at Hot AC “101.9 The Mix” WTMX. Peck first came to Chicago as morning co-host at 101.1 WKQX in 1992 after programming jobs in Raleigh and Detroit.
With Peck’s addition for 10am-2:30pm, current WJMK midday host Jeffrey T Mason will move to afternoons. Mason fills the opening created by Gary Spears exiting last month to relocate to Florida.
CBS RADIO Chicago has appointed Brian Peck to host middays at WJMK, 104.3 “K-Hits.” Beginning Monday, November 6, Peck will be heard weekdays from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. Current Midday personality Jeffrey T. Mason will move to the new afternoon drive slot of 2:30 PM-7 PM following the departure of six-year host Gary Spears who relocated to Florida.
“Adding Brian to K-Hits gives us a unique opportunity to re-set our on-air lineup with three veteran Chicago voices, all perfectly suited for their dayparts,” said Greg Solk, WJMK Program Director and Operations Manager. “Brian is a great fit for K-Hits and Chicago listeners will be thrilled to have him back on the air.”
“Being on Chicago radio has been a daily ritual for me for nearly 25 years,” said Peck. “I cannot wait to get back on the air and reconnect with this magical city’s radio listeners; they are the best anywhere, and K-Hits is the perfect station for me to spend the middle of my day on. Thanks to everyone at CBS RADIO Chicago for this incredible opportunity.”
Peck joins K-Hits with a history of entertaining Chicago radio fans since 1992 when he co-hosted mornings with former MTV veejay, Mark Goodman. Other Chicago radio stops have included WSHE and WTMX.
As of Monday November 6, the primetime line up on K-Hits will be:
• 5 AM-10 AM Dave Fogel
• 10 AM-2:30 PM Brian Peck
• 2:30 PM – 7 PM Jeffrey T. Mason
