Quilvio Perdomo’s Radio Sharon Foundation has launched Spanish Tropical “Mega 94.9” 1220 WSTL/93.7 W229AN/94.9 W235CN Providence RI.
WSTL and W229AN previously were Christian “Shine 1220” until going silent in June ahead of a planned sale. While no transfer has yet to be filed with the FCC, Radio Sharon is operating the pair via LMA along with W235CN, which Radio Sharon purchased from Mercer County Community College in New Jersey for $28,300 in May 2016 and moved to Providence from Chatsworth NJ in the 250 mile translator filing window.
The launch gives Providence its third Spanish Tropical station joining Full Power Radio’s “Latina 100.3” WKKB Middletown and Video Mundo Broadcasting’s “Poder 102.1” 1110 WPMZ East Providence/102.1 W271CR Providence. Perdomo previously served as Program Director and Morning host at WKKB as “DJ Frankie”. He also operates “Latina 92.1/107.1” WLEV-HD3/92.1 W221CU Allentown and 107.1 W296CL Reading PA.
