As Pine Barrens Broadcasting intends to shut down Soft Oldies 94.7 WLIX-LP Ridge NY at 12pm on Sunday, December 31, Apple Community Broadcasting will expand their own Soft AC “101.5 The Breeze” W268AN Plainview to one of WLIX’s translators.
The Breeze will expand onto 93.3 W227CL Coram giving it coverage of Suffolk County communities including Farmingville, Holbrook, Medford, and Patchouge. “101.5 The Breeze” debuted in July positioned as “all your favorite songs from 1960’s – Today” being fed by 93.5 WVIP-HD4 New Rochelle.
The change comes as Pine Barrens Broadcasting head Scotty Hart announced that WLIX-LP had “reached the end of its intended mission”. The third signal that had rebroadcast WLIX-LP, 96.9 W245BA Manorville had been sold by M. Celenza Communications to Michael Aliffi’s W245BA Inc this fall for $150,000. It should also be launching new programming shortly.
