Former “92.3 Amp Radio” WBMP New York MD/Midday host Nicholaus ‘Niko’ Petrou is heading to Country 107.9 KMLE Phoenix for mornings alongside Nina D.
The show will be rebranded as “The Breakfast Buzz” as Niko fills the opening created by Chris Matthews’ exit last month. Niko has been working weekend/fill-in shifts at iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ New York since departing WBMP last July. He joined WBMP in 2013 while still “92.3 Now” WNOW-FM in after spending eight years at WHTZ. He has also worked at “Channel 95.5” WKQI Detroit and “Pulse 87” WNYZ-LP New York.
Entercom, the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content in the United States, today announced that Nicholaus “Niko” Petrou is the new morning co-host for KMLE Country @ 107.9 (KMLE-FM) in Phoenix. The station also announced that the morning show was renamed as “The Breakfast Buzz.” Niko joins Nina D. on the morning show which airs weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. MT.

Prior to KMLE, Niko held a variety of roles at sister station WBMP-FM, including Assistant Program Director, Music Director and midday on-air personality. Previously, he was the evening on-air host for WHTZ-FM in New York.
